The team As a key member of the OS&Apps team at Murena, you will deliver a seamless, bug‑free user experience for /e/OS. Our global team collaborates closely with other squads, such as Devices and Cloud. Our team communicates asynchronously and relies on GitLab to manage day‑to‑day activities efficiently.

Overview of the role As an AOSP Framework Engineer, you will maintain and enhance the AOSP framework and applications for /e/OS.
Your responsibilities include: • Customizing SystemUI, Framework, and other applications to meet project requirements. • Collaborating with Android services to ensure seamless device integration. • Implementing UI/UX elements, including Layouts, Views, Animations, Styles, Themes, and Material Design Components (MDC). • Using tools like Android Studio, Git, and ADB to streamline development.
A deep understanding of the AOSP build system, Makefile, and Blueprints is crucial. Your ability to troubleshoot issues independently, often with limited official documentation, will set you apart. Strong problem-solving and research skills are essential. Proactivity and self-motivation are key in our remote work environment.

Responsibilities: • Merge upstream changes and integrate new applications. • Modify AOSP frameworks and applications. • Fix bugs, design code, and develop new features. • Test, deploy, and document your work.
