Community Mobilization Officer - Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and community-focused Community Mobilization Officer to join their fully remote team, supporting initiatives within and around Soweto . This role is pivotal in engaging local communities, building trust, and mobilizing residents to participate in and benefit from our client's programs. You will be responsible for developing strategies to foster community ownership, encourage participation, and ensure that interventions are responsive to local needs. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective community mobilization strategies to foster participation and ownership.
• Conduct outreach activities to engage diverse community groups and build strong relationships.
• Facilitate community meetings, workshops, and discussions to identify needs and co-create solutions.
• Act as a liaison between the organization and the community, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
• Mobilize community members to participate in program activities, training, and volunteer opportunities.
• Monitor and report on community engagement levels, feedback, and progress towards mobilization goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Community Development, Sociology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in community mobilization , outreach, or participatory development work.
• Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with diverse community groups and build rapport.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of social dynamics and community-based approaches to development.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage remote outreach efforts efficiently.
