Community Sports Coordinator (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a passionate and highly organized Community Sports Coordinator to spearhead the development and implementation of accessible sports initiatives, primarily targeting youth and underserved populations, with a focus on remote engagement strategies. This role is critical for fostering physical activity, promoting healthy lifestyles, and building community cohesion through virtual platforms and localized support networks, designed to reach individuals across diverse geographical areas, including those in and around Soweto . You will be responsible for designing engaging online programs, coordinating virtual events, supporting local facilitators, and measuring the impact of these initiatives, ensuring inclusivity and broad participation in a flexible, remote-first capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for remote sports programming and community engagement.
• Design and facilitate virtual sports workshops, coaching sessions, and fitness challenges using online platforms.
• Coordinate with local community leaders and facilitators to support grassroots sports activities and provide resources.
• Manage online communication channels and digital marketing efforts to promote program participation.
• Track participant engagement, collect feedback, and analyze data to measure program effectiveness and impact.

Requirements

• Proven experience in sports program management , community outreach, or youth development, with a focus on remote or hybrid models.
• Strong understanding of digital tools and platforms for online communication, event management, and program delivery.
• Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
• Passion for promoting sports and physical activity, with an ability to motivate individuals remotely.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a distributed team environment.
