About the Role Our client is seeking a skilled Data Analyst to support their remote mining operations, working from anywhere. This is a fully remote position focused on leveraging data to drive operational efficiencies, improve safety, and optimize resource extraction.

The ideal candidate is proficient in data analysis tools and techniques, with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of the mining lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities • Collect, clean, and organize large datasets from various sources within the mining operations. • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production, safety, and costs. • Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and areas for operational improvement. • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights. • Utilize data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI) to derive meaningful conclusions. • Contribute to the development of data-driven strategies for optimizing mining exploration and production processes remotely.

Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mining Engineering, or a related quantitative field. • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst , preferably within the mining or resources sector . • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation. • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and statistical software (e.g., R, Python). • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex findings clearly. • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a remote work environment , supporting operations that may include areas like Stellenbosch .
