About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to join their team, offering the flexibility to work remotely from Paarl or any suitable location. This role is central to developing and implementing sophisticated control systems for industrial automation and manufacturing processes. You will design, program, and commission PLC and HMI systems, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance of automated machinery. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement PLC and HMI control systems for automated machinery.
- Program and troubleshoot PLC logic for various industrial applications (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
- Develop graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for HMI systems to enhance operational control and monitoring.
- Perform system integration, testing, and commissioning of automation solutions remotely and potentially on-site as needed.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers and clients to define control system requirements and specifications.
- Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for installed control systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in industrial automation and controls engineering.
- Proficiency in programming major PLC platforms and HMI software.
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, Profibus).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, particularly for remote diagnostics.
- Ability to manage projects and communicate effectively in a remote setting.
