Endpoint Security Engineer - Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Endpoint Security Engineer to join their fully remote team, supporting their operations from Upington and across the globe. This role is essential for designing, implementing, and managing solutions that protect all endpoint devices (laptops, desktops, mobile devices) from sophisticated threats. You will be responsible for deploying and configuring endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools, antivirus software, and other endpoint security technologies. The ideal candidate is passionate about endpoint security, possesses strong technical skills in managing diverse endpoint environments, and thrives in a remote, collaborative setting, ensuring the highest level of protection for our client's distributed workforce.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage endpoint security solutions , including EDR, antivirus, and host-based intrusion prevention systems.
• Develop and maintain endpoint security policies and configurations across various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
• Monitor endpoint security alerts and investigate suspicious activities, performing forensic analysis when necessary.
• Deploy and manage endpoint patching and vulnerability management processes.
• Collaborate with IT support and system administrators to ensure effective endpoint security deployment and operation.
• Stay current with emerging endpoint threats and security technologies, recommending improvements to the security posture.
• Develop and maintain documentation for endpoint security procedures and configurations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum_of4_years_of_experience_in_endpoint_security_engineering_or_a_related_cybersecurity_role.
• Proven experience with major EDR solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Carbon Black).
• Strong understanding of operating system security (Windows, macOS) and network protocols.
• Experience with scripting for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
