About the Role Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Health and Safety Officer to join their remote team, supporting operations primarily in the Richards Bay area and surrounding regions.

Key Responsibilities • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS policies and procedures for all company operations. • Conduct remote risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. • Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international health, safety, and environmental legislation. • Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees at various levels within the organization. • Monitor environmental impact and ensure sustainable practices are implemented and maintained. • Collaborate with management and departmental heads to promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.

Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in EHS management, with a strong understanding of remote oversight. • Professional certification such as NEBOSH, CSP, or equivalent is highly desirable. • Expert knowledge of EHS regulations, best practices, and risk management principles. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively remotely. • Proficiency in EHS management software and virtual collaboration tools.
