About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Support Counsellor to provide essential services remotely to families in need across the Vereeniging region. This fully remote role focuses on offering guidance, support, and counselling to families navigating various challenges, including parenting, relationship issues, and child development concerns. You will leverage virtual platforms to create a safe, confidential, and supportive space for families to address their issues and strengthen their bonds. This is an ideal position for a skilled professional passionate about family well-being and adept at delivering impactful therapeutic services through digital channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct virtual counselling sessions with individuals, couples, and families to address a range of issues.
  • Develop and implement personalized intervention and support plans tailored to family needs.
  • Provide psychoeducation on topics such as child development, effective communication, and conflict resolution.
  • Facilitate virtual support groups for parents and caregivers facing similar challenges.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely client records in compliance with ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to ensure holistic family support.
  • Stay current with best practices in family therapy and remote counselling techniques.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Professional registration with a recognized counselling or psychotherapy board.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience providing family and individual counselling.
  • Proficiency in using telehealth platforms and virtual communication tools securely and effectively.
  • Strong understanding of family systems theory and child development.
  • Excellent therapeutic skills , empathy, and active listening abilities.
  • Ability to manage a caseload remotely and maintain professional boundaries.
