General Management Couple - Ultra-Luxury Remote Safari Lodge - Northern Limpopo - Urgent Vacancy

Kendrick Recruitment is searching for an exceptional General Management Couple for one of South Africa’s most iconic ultra-luxury safari lodges - an architecturally celebrated property set within a remote private concession in the far north of Limpopo, forming part of a respected South African boutique hospitality group. This is not a standard management role and it is not for everyone. The incoming couple will be responsible for managing and protecting the property’s assets, overseeing the building and restoration site, learning the concession and its staff - and then leading the lodge into its new chapter, which includes an exciting shift towards a wellness-led safari experience incorporating sound safaris and deeper nature immersion. There is genuine time and space built in to get to know this extraordinary place before guests arrive.

For the right couple, this is an extraordinary opportunity.

The location is extremely remote. Candidates must be genuinely willing and enthusiastic about living in an isolated, off-grid bush environment. This is non‑negotiable. Please note: Due to accommodation constraints, this position is not suitable for candidates with children or pets.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience in lodge management or a closely related senior hospitality role - essential for at least one partner
  • Strong maintenance background - essential; one partner must have solid practical maintenance knowledge and the ability to manage a building site and protect property assets
  • Awareness of and interest in wellness‑led hospitality and nature immersion experiences - important given the lodge’s new direction
  • Sound operational knowledge across FOH, F&B, housekeeping, guiding coordination and guest relations
  • Strong financial management including stock control, reporting and cost management
  • Staff management, development and leadership ability
  • Remote living experience advantageous - genuine comfort with and enthusiasm for isolated bush living is essential
  • Valid South African driver’s licence - essential
  • Stable work history with outstanding, contactable references

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and protect lodge assets throughout the rebuild and restoration period
  • Oversee and coordinate the building site in liaison with contractors and the hospitality group
  • Learn the concession, its rhythms, wildlife and staff thoroughly ahead of reopening
  • Begin implementing operational systems, SOPs and standards in preparation for guests
  • Full general management of all lodge operations across all departments
  • Deliver a warm, deeply personalised and exceptional guest experience
  • Lead; develop and motivate the lodge team
  • Drive the lodge’s new wellness direction including sound safaris and immersive nature experiences
  • Manage financials, stock control, reporting and liaison with head office
  • Maintain the remote property to the highest standard

Package

  • Combined Gross Salary: R70,000 to R90,000 per month (DOE)
  • Live-in: Couple accommodation provided
  • Meals provided
  • Please note: No medical aid contribution is included in this package
  • Start date: ASAP
