Geologist - Exploration - Fully Remote

About the Role

Our client, a leading independent Oil & Gas exploration company , is seeking a highly skilled Geologist to join their globally distributed team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere. You will be instrumental in identifying and evaluating new petroleum prospects, utilizing cutting-edge geological modeling and data analysis techniques. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future exploration strategy of the company by providing critical insights into subsurface geology and potential resource plays. You will work with a diverse team of geoscientists and engineers committed to sustainable and responsible resource development.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze seismic, well log, and core data to interpret subsurface geology and identify potential hydrocarbon traps.
• Develop and refine detailed 3D geological models for exploration and appraisal projects.
• Perform basin analysis and regional studies to assess prospectivity and define play concepts.
• Collaborate remotely with geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and management to de-risk prospects and support drilling decisions.
• Prepare technical presentations and reports on geological findings and exploration recommendations.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in geological interpretation techniques and software.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology or a related Earth Science discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in exploration geology, specifically within the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in geological software such as Petrel, Kingdom Suite, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of sequence stratigraphy, sedimentology, and structural geology.
• Demonstrated success in prospect generation and evaluation, preferably with experience in frontier basins.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote work environment.
