About the Role
Our client is seeking a qualified Geotechnical Engineer to join their remote team, supporting projects throughout the Mossel Bay region and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze soil and rock mechanics data to assess ground conditions for various construction projects.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical investigation reports, including recommendations for foundation design and earthworks.
• Develop and implement soil improvement strategies and slope stabilization designs.
• Utilize specialized geotechnical software for modeling and analysis of subsurface conditions.
• Collaborate with project teams remotely, providing expert advice on geotechnical aspects of designs.
• Ensure all geotechnical designs comply with relevant engineering codes and environmental regulations.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical investigation and design.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or similar.
• Experience in interpreting site investigation data and conducting laboratory test analysis.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work autonomously in a remote setup .
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills for remote client and team interaction.
