About the Role
Our client is seeking a proficient Geotechnical Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team. This role is critical for assessing ground conditions and providing expert recommendations for a wide array of construction and infrastructure projects. Working independently from your designated remote workspace, you will analyze soil and rock mechanics, conduct risk assessments, and contribute to the foundational integrity of major developments. This is an ideal position for a detail-oriented geotechnical expert looking for the flexibility and autonomy of a remote work arrangement, contributing to impactful projects nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee geotechnical investigations , including site assessments and subsurface explorations.
- Analyze soil and rock properties, groundwater conditions, and seismic data.
- Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports detailing findings, design parameters, and recommendations for foundations, slopes, and earthworks.
- Develop foundation designs , including shallow and deep foundations, for various structures.
- Provide expert consultation on geotechnical risks and mitigation strategies for diverse projects.
- Collaborate with project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies via virtual communication channels.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering practice.
- Proficiency with geotechnical software for analysis and modeling (e.g., GeoStudio, PLAXIS).
- Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and engineering geology.
- Excellent technical report writing and communication skills, suitable for remote work.
- Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration is preferred.
