About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and dedicated Geotechnical Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team. This position will focus on evaluating subsurface conditions and providing foundational recommendations for a wide range of construction projects. As a remote employee, you will have the autonomy to manage your workload and collaborate with colleagues across the country. You'll be instrumental in ensuring the stability and safety of foundations, earthworks, and infrastructure, working on projects that span residential, commercial, and industrial developments, contributing to critical project planning and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and interpret geotechnical investigations, including soil borings and laboratory testing analysis.
  • Provide recommendations for foundation design, slope stability, and earth retention systems.
  • Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, including site characterization and design parameters.
  • Collaborate with project teams to address geotechnical challenges and ensure project feasibility.
  • Utilize specialized geotechnical software for modeling and analysis of soil-structure interactions.
  • Oversee and interpret data from remote site investigations and field monitoring programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Master's degree with a geotechnical focus is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., GeoStudio, Plaxis) and site investigation techniques.
  • Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and engineering geology.
  • Experience in report writing and communicating complex technical information effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting.
