Information Security Analyst - Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and analytical Information Security Analyst to join their fully remote security operations center, supporting their presence in Paarl . This role is focused on monitoring security alerts, identifying threats, and coordinating the response to security incidents. You will be at the forefront of protecting the organization's digital infrastructure by leveraging advanced security tools and techniques. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for potential security threats and incidents.
• Analyze security alerts, investigate suspicious activities, and determine the scope and impact of security events.
• Perform initial response actions, upscale incidents as necessary, track resolution progress.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of incident response playbooks and procedures.
• Conduct threat hunting activities to proactively identify potential security breaches.
• Maintain accurate records of security incidents and remediation activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CySA+) are advantageous.
• 2-4 years of experience in information security, incident response, or security operations center (SOC) analysis.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint security solutions.
• Understanding of common cyber threats, attack vectors, and incident response methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, effective in a remote setting.
