Instrumentation Technician - Remote Operations

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join their remote operations team, supporting energy facilities across various locations. This position is fully remote, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere. You will be responsible for the monitoring, calibration, and maintenance of critical instrumentation and control systems remotely, ensuring optimal performance and safety of our energy assets. This role requires a proactive individual with a deep understanding of industrial automation and a passion for maintaining high operational standards in the energy sector .

Key Responsibilities

• Remotely monitor and diagnose issues with instrumentation and control systems .
• Perform virtual calibration and configuration of sensors, transmitters, and actuators.
• Analyze system performance data and recommend optimization strategies.
• Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting assistance to on-site field teams.
• Maintain accurate records of all remote maintenance activities and system performance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on system upgrades and modifications.

Requirements

• National Diploma or N6 in Instrumentation, Control, or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician in the energy or process industry .
• Proficiency with SCADA systems, PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell), and DCS .
• Strong understanding of calibration procedures and standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for remote diagnostics.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment .
