About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly knowledgeable and diligent Insurance Compliance Officer to join their remote team. This critical role ensures that the company adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies governing the insurance industry. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, conducting internal audits, and providing guidance to staff on regulatory matters. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of insurance regulations, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to proactively identify and mitigate compliance risks. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's insurance compliance program.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the insurance industry and ensure timely updates to policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular internal audits and assessments to evaluate compliance effectiveness.
• Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance-related matters and best practices.
• Investigate compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors as required.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in insurance compliance , risk management, or a related legal field.
• In-depth knowledge of South African insurance laws and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FAIS, FICA).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
• Relevant professional qualifications such as a legal degree or compliance certification are highly desirable.
