Lead Bioprocess Engineer - Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Bioprocess Engineer to join their fully remote R&D team. This pivotal role will involve the design, development, and optimization of bioprocessing strategies for novel biological products. You will be responsible for overseeing scale-up activities, ensuring efficient and robust manufacturing processes, and contributing significantly to the company's pipeline of innovative solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and validate bioprocesses for the manufacturing of biologics and therapeutic proteins.
• Lead scale-up and technology transfer activities from laboratory to pilot and commercial scales.
• Develop and optimize fermentation and cell culture processes for maximum yield and product quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within bioprocessing operations.
• Collaborate with regulatory affairs to ensure compliance with cGMP and other relevant guidelines.
• Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets for bioprocess development initiatives.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in biopharmaceutical process development.
• Demonstrated expertise in upstream process development (fermentation and/or cell culture).
• Strong understanding of downstream purification processes and analytical methods.
• Proven ability to manage projects and lead cross-functional teams in a remote setting.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a strong grasp of bioprocess modeling.
