About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join their globally distributed team, working remotely from South Africa . This senior role will lead the design and development of complex electrical systems for large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for guiding a team of engineers, setting design standards, and ensuring the successful execution of electrical engineering aspects of projects from concept to commissioning. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design process for major industrial projects, including power distribution, substations, and control systems.
• Develop and enforce high standards for electrical design, ensuring compliance with international codes and regulations.
• Mentor and manage a team of electrical engineers, providing technical direction and performance feedback.
• Oversee the preparation of detailed design documents, specifications, and engineering calculations .
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines to achieve project goals.
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering design, with a significant portion in a lead or senior capacity.
• Demonstrated experience leading design teams and managing complex electrical projects .
• Expertise in power systems analysis, protection, and high-voltage applications.
• Proficiency with advanced electrical design and simulation software.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
