About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Mechanical Engineer to spearhead their engineering initiatives in a fully remote capacity. This senior role involves guiding design teams, overseeing project lifecycles, and driving technical excellence in the development of advanced mechanical systems. You will be responsible for setting the technical vision, mentoring engineering talent, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects that align with the company's strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers in the design, development, and implementation of complex mechanical systems and products.
- Define and drive the technical strategy for mechanical engineering projects, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and execution, managing timelines and budgets effectively in a remote setting.
- Conduct advanced engineering analysis , including structural, thermal, and dynamic simulations, to optimize designs and ensure reliability.
- Establish and enforce best practices in design, documentation, and quality control across the engineering team.
- Collaborate with senior management, product development, and external partners to drive product innovation and market competitiveness.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- PhD is a plus.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proven expertise in CAD/CAE software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, ANSYS) and a deep understanding of engineering principles.
- Strong track record of leading successful product development cycles from concept to production.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of managing and motivating a remote engineering team.
- Experience working in an agile development environment is highly desirable.
