Legal Counsel - Commercial Contracts (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel specializing in commercial contracts to join their fully remote legal team. This role is critical for providing expert legal advice and support on a wide array of commercial agreements, ensuring the company's interests are protected and business objectives are met efficiently. You will work closely with sales, procurement, and business development teams, contributing to the negotiation and finalization of contracts. The ideal candidate is a proactive, self-motivated professional comfortable managing their workload independently in a virtual setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on complex commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, service level agreements, and partnership agreements.
• Provide strategic legal counsel on contractual risks, liabilities, and compliance issues.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure contractual terms align with company policies and objectives.
• Develop and maintain standard contract templates and playbooks.
• Manage contract lifecycles and ensure compliance with executed agreements.
• Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting commercial contracts.

Requirements

• Admitted attorney with at least 5 years of experience focused on commercial contract law.
• Proven expertise in drafting, negotiating, and managing a high volume of complex commercial agreements.
• Strong understanding of contract lifecycle management and risk mitigation strategies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and deliver results in a remote environment.
• Proficiency with contract management software and virtual collaboration tools is a plus.
