Logistics Planner (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and independent Logistics Planner to join their remote workforce, supporting operations connected to Stellenbosch. This role is responsible for designing, optimizing, and executing logistics plans to ensure the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods. You will analyze transportation data, coordinate with carriers, and resolve logistical challenges to meet delivery timelines and customer expectations, all while working remotely. This position requires strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage complex logistics projects independently within a virtual team structure.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed logistics plans, including transportation routes, schedules, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution of logistics operations.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively identify and address potential delays or issues.
• Optimize transportation costs by analyzing routes, modes of transport, and carrier performance.
• Maintain accurate logistics documentation and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics function, proposing solutions for enhanced efficiency.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics planning, transportation management, or a related field.
• Proficiency in logistics planning software and tools.
• Strong understanding of transportation modes, carrier management, and supply chain principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating in a remote setting.
