Key Responsibilities

• Provide peer support and advocacy for individuals with mental health conditions.
• Assist clients in understanding mental health diagnoses, treatment options, and available services.
• Help clients develop personalized recovery plans and coping strategies.
• Facilitate access to mental health services, including therapy, counseling, and psychiatric care.
• Educate clients on their rights within the mental healthcare system.
• Conduct virtual support group sessions and educational workshops.

Requirements

• Personal lived experience with mental health challenges and recovery is highly valued.
• Certification as a Peer Support Specialist or Mental Health Advocate is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of mental health principles and the recovery model.
• Excellent empathy, communication, and active listening skills.
• Ability to navigate complex healthcare and social service systems, particularly within Gauteng .
• Proficiency in remote communication and collaboration tools.
