About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Golf Course Superintendent to manage the meticulous upkeep and agronomic health of their premier golf course located in Nelspruit . This hands‑on role requires extensive knowledge of turfgrass management, irrigation systems, and pest control. You will lead a team of groundskeepers, ensuring the course is maintained to the highest standards of playability and aesthetic appeal for members and guests. This is a critical position for preserving the reputation and quality of the golfing experience at one of the region's finest courses in Mpumalanga .

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of golf course maintenance, including mowing, irrigation, fertilization, and pest management.
• Develop and implement agronomic plans to ensure optimal turfgrass health and playing conditions.
• Manage the course maintenance budget, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation.
• Lead, train, and supervise a team of groundskeepers and maintenance staff.
• Maintain and operate all golf course maintenance equipment and facilities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and implement sustainable maintenance practices.

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Horticulture, Agronomy, Turfgrass Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent.
• In‑depth knowledge of turfgrass science, irrigation systems, and pest/disease control.
• Valid driver's license and pesticide applicator's license (or ability to obtain).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
