Part-time Accountant (SA Based -Remote)

Our client, a multi-company UK self-storage group, is seeking a part-time, remote Accountant to support their finance function. This is a hands-on role covering both bookkeeping and management accounting, reporting directly to the Directors (UK). Reports to:

• Director (UK)

Essential:

• Extensive hands-on Xero experience including OCR invoice capture (e.g. Hubdoc)
• Prior experience with UK companies and UK accounting/compliance practices
• Direct HMRC communication experience (VAT, payroll, compliance)
• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or minimum 5 years in senior bookkeeping/management accounting
• Strong double-entry, reconciliations and month-end process knowledge
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets
• Multi-company/group structure experience
• Ability to work autonomously and meet strict deadlines

Preferred:

• UK VAT and HMRC submissions experience
• Service- or subscription-based business background
• Remote international client experience
• Integrated cloud-based/paperless workflow familiarity

Working Structure:

• 20-30 hours per week (flexible); minimum 2-3 hours daily overlap with UK business hours
• Weekly check-ins with Directors
• Deliverables-based role - measured on results, not hours
• Reliable internet and secure remote working environment required.
