About the Role Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their elite engineering team in a fully remote capacity, serving their Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal operations.

Key Responsibilities • Define and drive the technical strategy for mechanical engineering initiatives. • Solve complex design and system integration challenges that have significant business impact. • Lead and mentor senior and junior engineers on challenging technical problems. • Conduct advanced analysis, including stress, thermal, and vibration analysis, using sophisticated tools. • Collaborate with executive leadership and R&D teams to identify new opportunities and technologies. • Develop and champion best practices in mechanical design, analysis, and manufacturing processes.

Requirements • PhD or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. • 12+ years of extensive experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on complex systems. • Demonstrated expertise in multiple areas of mechanical design, analysis, and simulation. • Proven ability to lead technical teams and influence engineering direction in a remote setting. • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities. • Strong presentation and communication skills, adept at conveying complex technical information to diverse audiences.
