About the Role Our client, a leader in the energy sector , is seeking a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to join their team in a fully remote capacity, supporting operations that may span across various locations including Durban .

Key Responsibilities • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive process safety management (PSM) programs. • Conduct thorough hazard identification and risk assessments (HIRA), including HAZOP studies and LOPA. • Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions. • Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international safety regulations and industry best practices. • Develop and deliver safety training programs to operational staff and management. • Maintain process safety information, including P&IDs, PFDs, and safety equipment documentation.

Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. • Minimum of 6 years of experience in process safety engineering , preferably within the oil, gas, or energy industry . • In-depth knowledge of PSM elements such as Management of Change, Mechanical Integrity, and Emergency Planning. • Experience with risk assessment methodologies and tools. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail. • Excellent communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
