Procurement Specialist - FMCG (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Procurement Specialist to join their operations team on a fully remote basis, focusing on the FMCG sector. This role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing raw materials, packaging, and other supplies necessary for the production and distribution of FMCG products. You will play a critical role in ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery of all procured goods, contributing significantly to the company's bottom line and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate potential suppliers for raw materials, packaging, and indirect spend, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness for FMCG products .
• Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and optimize procurement processes.
• Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and address any issues related to delivery, quality, or compliance.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and budget constraints.
• Stay informed about market trends, commodity prices, and new sourcing opportunities relevant to the FMCG industry .
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., production, R&D, finance) to understand their procurement needs and ensure timely fulfillment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist or in a similar purchasing role, preferably within the FMCG industry .
• Strong negotiation skills and a solid understanding of procurement best practices and contract management.
• Ability to analyze market data and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
