About the Role Our client, a leader in the insurance sector, is seeking a highly analytical and motivated Remote Actuarial Analyst to join their actuarial team.

Key Responsibilities • Assist in the development, implementation, and validation of actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial forecasting. • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, assess risks, and support pricing decisions for various insurance products. • Prepare reports and presentations on actuarial findings, assumptions, and recommendations for management and regulatory bodies. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, product development, and finance, to provide actuarial expertise. • Conduct peer reviews of actuarial work performed by colleagues, ensuring accuracy and compliance with professional standards. • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in actuarial science and modeling techniques.

Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field. • Progress towards actuarial examinations (e.g., Actuarial Society of South Africa exams) is essential. • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail. • Proficiency in statistical software, programming languages (e.g., R, Python), and data manipulation tools. • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
