About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and communicative Remote Agricultural Extension Officer to support farmers and agricultural communities across South Africa . You will act as a vital link between agricultural research and on-the-ground application, helping farmers improve their productivity, sustainability, and livelihoods.
The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of agricultural principles and excellent virtual communication skills, enabling them to effectively educate and support a diverse range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide remote technical advice and support to farmers on crop cultivation, livestock management, and soil health.
• Disseminate information on new agricultural technologies, research findings, and government programs.
• Organize and facilitate virtual workshops, webinars, and training sessions for farmers.
• Assist farmers in identifying challenges and developing practical solutions for their operations.
• Promote sustainable and climate-smart agricultural practices.
• Collect feedback from farmers to inform agricultural research and policy development.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Extension, Rural Development, or a related field.
• Proven experience in agricultural extension services, farm advisory, or a similar role.
• Solid understanding of various agricultural production systems relevant to South Africa .
• Excellent virtual communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using online collaboration tools and platforms.
• Ability to work independently and manage a remote caseload of farmers.
