About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized Remote Agricultural Scientist with a focus on Entomology to join their research and development team, serving clients in and around Polokwane, Limpopo . This position is integral to developing and implementing innovative pest management strategies that are both effective and environmentally sound. You will conduct research, analyze data, and provide expert recommendations to clients, contributing to crop protection and yield maximization. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research on agricultural pests, their life cycles, and their impact on various crops.
• Develop and evaluate integrated pest management (IPM) strategies, including biological, chemical, and cultural control methods.
• Analyze field trial data, laboratory results, and field observations to assess pest populations and treatment efficacy.
• Provide remote expert advice and technical support to farmers and agricultural consultants on pest identification and management.
• Author scientific reports, research papers, and technical guides related to agricultural entomology.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on research projects and product development.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Entomology, Agricultural Entomology, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral research experience in agricultural entomology.
• Proven track record of conducting scientific research and publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals.
• Expertise in identifying common agricultural pests and understanding their ecological interactions.
• Experience with statistical analysis software and experimental design.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly in a remote setting.
