About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical Agricultural Systems Analyst to join their remote team, focusing on optimizing agricultural operations near Mahikeng. This role is central to improving the efficiency, productivity, and sustainability of farming practices through the analysis of complex data sets. You will work with farm managers and stakeholders to identify bottlenecks, model system performance, and recommend data-driven improvements. The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative skills, a deep understanding of agricultural processes, and the ability to translate intricate data into actionable strategies for a dispersed client base, all from a remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to agricultural production, resource management, and farm operations.
• Develop and maintain mathematical and statistical models to simulate and predict system performance.
• Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) for agricultural operations and monitor progress against these metrics.
• Provide data-driven recommendations to optimize crop yields, resource allocation, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate virtually with farm managers, agronomists, and technology providers to implement system improvements.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering, Data Science, Operations Research, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems analysis, data analytics, or modeling within the agricultural sector.
• Proven expertise in statistical analysis, simulation modeling, and data visualization tools.
• Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation and analysis.
• Excellent understanding of agricultural systems, crop science, and farm management principles.
