Remote Agronomy Consultant

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Remote Agronomy Consultant to provide expert advice and support to their farming partners across various regions, including areas near Bloemfontein, Free State . In this role, you will leverage your deep understanding of crop science, soil health, and sustainable farming practices to help clients optimize their yields, manage risks, and improve overall farm profitability. Key Responsibilities

• Provide remote agronomic advice and technical support to farmers on crop planning, soil management, pest and disease control, and nutrient application.
• Develop customized agronomic plans and recommendations based on client-specific farm conditions, crop types, and strategic goals.
• Utilize remote sensing data, weather information, and soil analysis results to inform recommendations and guide decision-making.
• Conduct virtual consultations, webinars, and training sessions for farmers and agricultural stakeholders.
• Stay current with the latest research, technologies, and best practices in agronomy and sustainable agriculture.
• Assist clients in adopting new technologies and innovative farming techniques to enhance productivity and environmental stewardship.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a related agricultural discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in agronomic consulting, research, or farm management.
• In-depth knowledge of diverse crop types, soil health principles, integrated pest management, and sustainable farming systems.
• Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting agricultural data, remote sensing imagery, and weather patterns.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships remotely.
• Proficiency in using digital communication tools and platforms for remote client engagement.
