Remote Aircraft Maintenance Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and organized Remote Aircraft Maintenance Planner to oversee and coordinate the scheduling of all maintenance activities for their fleet. This role is essential for ensuring aircraft availability, optimizing maintenance resources, and minimizing downtime. You will be responsible for planning scheduled maintenance checks, managing work packages, and ensuring that all necessary parts, personnel, and documentation are available for each task. The ideal candidate possesses strong planning skills, a solid understanding of aircraft maintenance processes, and is adept at working independently in a remote capacity. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed maintenance plans and schedules for aircraft, considering manufacturer recommendations, regulatory requirements, and operational needs.
• Coordinate the allocation of maintenance personnel, tools, and equipment for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
• Prepare comprehensive work packages, including task cards, technical data, and parts lists, for maintenance teams.
• Monitor the progress of ongoing maintenance tasks and make necessary adjustments to schedules to mitigate delays.
• Liaise with supply chain management to ensure timely availability of required parts and materials.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance plans, schedules, and completion status in the maintenance information system.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing maintenance planning and execution processes.

Requirements

• Proven experience in aircraft maintenance planning or a similar role within the aviation industry.
• Solid understanding of aircraft maintenance processes, schedules, and regulatory requirements (e.g., SACAA).
• Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or similar planning software.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address potential issues.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical teams and management remotely.
• Self-motivated and disciplined, capable of working effectively with minimal supervision in a remote setup.
