Remote Aircraft Technical Writer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Remote Aircraft Technical Writer to join their global team. This position is fully remote and requires an individual with a keen eye for detail and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and accurate documentation. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining a wide range of technical publications, including maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and operational guides for various aircraft platforms. This role demands excellent written communication skills and a strong understanding of aviation technicalities.

Key Responsibilities

• Author, revise, and edit technical documentation for aircraft systems and maintenance procedures, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and completeness.

• Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and source data to produce user-friendly technical publications.

• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and subject matter experts to gather necessary information and validate content.

• Ensure all documentation adheres to industry standards, company style guides, and regulatory requirements for aviation manuals .

• Manage document revision control and publication workflows using specialized authoring tools.

• Develop content for various formats, including digital platforms, PDF, and interactive electronic technical manuals (IETMs).

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Technical Writer in the aviation or aerospace industry.

• Demonstrated ability to understand and clearly explain complex technical aircraft information.

• Proficiency with technical writing software and content management systems (e.g., MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker).

• Excellent command of the English language, grammar, and writing standards.

• Familiarity with aircraft maintenance procedures and regulatory documentation standards.

• Self-disciplined with strong time management skills to excel in a fully remote work environment.
