Remote Automotive Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Remote Automotive Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design and development of advanced electrical systems for vehicles. This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from any location within South Africa . You will be instrumental in architecting and implementing robust electrical components, wiring harnesses, and power management systems that are integral to modern automotive performance and safety. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical schematics and wiring harnesses for automotive applications.
• Specify and select electrical components, including sensors, actuators, ECUs, and power distribution modules.
• Perform electrical system simulations and analysis to ensure performance, reliability, and safety.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and software engineers, in a virtual environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues during prototype testing and vehicle integration.
• Contribute to the development of new automotive electrical technologies and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in automotive electrical system design.
• Proficiency in using CAD tools for schematic capture (e.g., ECAD, Harnessing tools).
• Strong understanding of automotive power distribution, signal integrity, and EMC principles.
• Experience with automotive communication networks (e.g., CAN, LIN) is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for remote collaboration.
