Remote Catering Operations Analyst

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing national catering services provider, is seeking a motivated and analytical Remote Catering Operations Analyst to join their dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will play a crucial role in optimizing operational efficiency, analyzing performance data, and identifying key areas for improvement across various catering units. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of catering operations, and proficiency in data analysis tools. You will collaborate with regional managers and operational teams to drive data-informed decision-making and enhance service delivery. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze operational data from various catering sites to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings and performance improvement.
• Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) dashboards for catering operations.
• Prepare regular reports on operational performance, food costs, labor efficiency, and client satisfaction.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of food and beverage inventory, waste management, and procurement processes.
• Collaborate with operations managers to implement data-driven strategies for enhancing efficiency and service quality.
• Assist in budgeting processes and track financial performance against targets.
• Identify and recommend best practices in catering operations management.
• Support the development and implementation of new operational tools and technologies.
• Provide analytical support for new business pitches and expansion initiatives.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders across different departments.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, operations analysis, or a similar role, preferably within the food service or hospitality industry.
• Proven experience in analyzing large datasets and presenting findings in a clear, concise manner.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel (advanced), SQL, and BI software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Strong understanding of catering operations, supply chain, and cost control principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote setting.
• Experience with catering management software is an advantage.
