Remote Chemical Engineer - Process Design

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Chemical Engineer to join their expanding team, focusing on process design and innovation. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing chemical processes for new and existing products, ensuring efficiency, safety, and scalability. This role requires a proactive individual who can collaborate effectively with global teams using digital communication tools. You will play a key part in shaping the future of our chemical production lines, driving projects from conceptualization through to implementation, and ensuring adherence to the highest industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop conceptual and detailed process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Perform mass and energy balance calculations for chemical processes.
• Conduct feasibility studies and techno-economic evaluations for new projects.
• Collaborate remotely with project managers, equipment vendors, and operational teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Develop operating procedures and provide technical support during commissioning and startup phases.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in chemical process engineering.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering .
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in chemical process design and project engineering.
• Proficiency in process simulation and design software.
• Demonstrated experience in scaling up chemical processes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in remote teams.
• Strong understanding of safety principles and regulatory compliance in chemical manufacturing.
