Remote Chemical Engineer - Research & Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly innovative Remote Chemical Engineer for their Research & Development division. In this role, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, designing, and piloting new chemical processes and products, working from a remote location. You will collaborate closely with R&D scientists and engineers across different time zones, translating laboratory findings into viable industrial applications. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and scale-up of novel chemical processes from benchtop to pilot scale in a virtual R&D environment.
• Conduct thorough literature reviews, feasibility studies, and economic analyses for new process concepts.
• Design and oversee pilot plant experiments, ensuring rigorous data collection and analysis.
• Collaborate with global R&D teams, providing chemical engineering expertise to support new product development.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, patent applications, and project proposals related to R&D initiatives.
• Ensure all R&D activities comply with safety, health, and environmental (SHE) regulations.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in R&D or process development.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in chemical process research, development, and scale-up.
• Strong background in reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and separation processes.
• Proficiency with process simulation software and experimental design methodologies (DOE).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for a remote, international team setting.
