Remote Chemical Engineer - Safety Compliance

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Remote Chemical Engineer with expertise in Safety Compliance to join their operational excellence team. This role will involve remotely assessing and ensuring adherence to stringent safety, health, and environmental (HSE) regulations across various company sites. You will conduct virtual audits, develop safety protocols, and provide guidance to site personnel on best practices for chemical handling and process safety. This position is perfect for a seasoned safety professional who can effectively manage compliance initiatives from a distance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct remote process safety audits and risk assessments of chemical manufacturing facilities.
• Develop and update safety procedures, guidelines, and training materials in alignment with regulatory requirements.
• Investigate safety incidents, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Provide expert advice and support to site-based teams on matters related to chemical safety, hazard analysis, and environmental protection.
• Monitor changes in HSE regulations and ensure that company policies and practices remain compliant.
• Maintain comprehensive records of safety performance, training, and compliance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related safety/environmental science field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in chemical process safety and environmental compliance.
• In-depth knowledge of international and national HSE regulations, including Process Safety Management (PSM) standards.
• Proven experience in conducting risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA) and incident investigations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent report-writing capabilities.
• Proficiency in using digital collaboration tools and platforms for remote work.
