Remote Chemical Process Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented Remote Chemical Process Design Engineer to contribute to their engineering efforts, supporting projects remotely for their facilities, including those near Upington . This role involves the conceptualization, design, and specification of chemical processes and equipment, with a strong emphasis on utilizing digital tools for collaboration and design. You will work on challenging projects, ensuring designs are efficient, safe, and cost-effective. Key Responsibilities

• Develop process designs, PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications for new chemical plants and process modifications.
• Perform process simulations and calculations to optimize designs and ensure performance criteria are met.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and HAZOP studies virtually.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, and vendors using digital communication platforms.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Substantial experience in chemical process design, including conceptual and detailed design phases.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD tools.
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, unit operations, and safety design practices.
• Excellent remote communication and collaboration skills.
