About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Chemical Process Designer for a fully remote position, tasked with developing conceptual and detailed designs for chemical processing plants and systems. You will play a key role in translating client requirements into functional, efficient, and safe engineering designs, working collaboratively with a distributed team. This role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, providing essential design expertise for a variety of innovative chemical projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and detailed piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Perform equipment sizing and selection, including pumps, heat exchangers, reactors, and separation units.
  • Conduct preliminary hazard analyses and ensure designs comply with safety and environmental standards.
  • Create mass and energy balances for proposed processes.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil) in a virtual environment.
  • Prepare design reports, specifications, and technical documentation for client review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in process design for chemical plants or related industries.
  • Proficiency with process design software and CAD tools.
  • Strong understanding of chemical unit operations and process safety principles.
  • Excellent ability to interpret and create complex engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for a remote team environment.
