Remote Chemical Process Development Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a creative and experienced Remote Chemical Process Development Scientist to spearhead the innovation of new chemical products and manufacturing routes. This position is critical for translating laboratory-scale discoveries into robust, scalable, and economically viable processes. Working exclusively from a remote location, you will collaborate with R&D chemists, engineers, and external partners to develop and optimize synthetic pathways and purification methods. Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to develop novel chemical synthesis routes and optimize existing processes.
• Perform bench-scale and pilot-scale studies to validate process feasibility and gather critical data.
• Characterize reaction products and intermediates using analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC-MS, NMR).
• Develop and optimize purification strategies to achieve target product specifications.
• Evaluate the safety and environmental impact of new processes and identify potential hazards.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, present findings, and contribute to intellectual property documentation.

Requirements

• PhD in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical process development, with a strong emphasis on synthesis and scale-up.
• Proven ability to design and conduct complex experiments and interpret results accurately.
• Hands-on experience with various analytical instrumentation for chemical characterization.
• Strong understanding of reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and separation principles.
• Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills, essential for remote collaboration.
