About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Remote Chemical Process Safety Specialist to bolster their safety compliance and risk management efforts across all operational sites. This critical role ensures that all chemical processes adhere to the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance, regardless of geographic location. You will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring robust safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a strong safety culture among remote and on-site teams. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise to proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards in chemical operations, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel. This position offers the flexibility of remote work combined with the challenge of overseeing safety for a dispersed industrial footprint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive process safety management (PSM) programs and policies.
  • Conduct detailed risk assessments, hazard analyses (HAZOP, LOPA), and incident investigations for chemical processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and deliver effective safety training modules for employees across various locations.
  • Monitor process safety performance metrics and generate regular reports for senior management.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to site operations teams on all aspects of process safety.

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in chemical process safety.
  • In-depth knowledge of PSM elements, HAZOP, LOPA, and incident investigation methodologies.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety legislation and industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to conduct effective safety audits and drive corrective actions remotely.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and reporting skills, crucial for a remote role.
