Remote Chief Exploration Geologist

About the Role

Our client, a globally recognized leader in mineral exploration, is seeking an exceptional Chief Exploration Geologist to join their team in a fully remote capacity. This is a high-impact, strategic role focused on identifying and advancing new mineral opportunities worldwide, with a particular emphasis on greenfield projects. You will be responsible for designing and implementing exploration strategies, managing exploration budgets, and leading multidisciplinary teams across various continents. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in generative exploration, structural geology, and geochemistry, coupled with a deep understanding of global mining jurisdictions and geological terrains.

This role requires a proactive and analytical individual who can thrive in a remote-first environment, leveraging technology to collaborate effectively and drive exploration success from anywhere in the world. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the company's future resource pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute innovative global exploration strategies to identify high-potential mineral deposit targets.
• Oversee all phases of the exploration cycle, from conceptual targeting to resource definition.
• Manage and interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data from diverse sources.
• Lead and mentor a global team of exploration geologists and geophysicists remotely.
• Prepare comprehensive exploration proposals, technical reports, and investment justifications.
• Conduct due diligence on potential acquisitions and joint venture opportunities.
• Manage exploration budgets and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
• Foster strong relationships with regional geological surveys, academic institutions, and industry peers.
• Ensure compliance with international exploration standards and best practices.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Geology, Economic Geology, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in mineral exploration, with a strong emphasis on generative exploration and discovery.
• Proven success in identifying and advancing significant mineral discoveries.
• Expertise in structural geology, metallogeny, and various deposit types (e.g., gold, copper, base metals).
• Proficiency in GIS software, 3D geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, ioGAS), and database management.
• Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated experience in managing remote teams and international exploration projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote setup.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required for project oversight and due diligence.
