Remote Chief Geologist - Resource Estimation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Chief Geologist to lead their resource estimation efforts, working entirely remotely. This senior role is critical for accurately defining and valuing the company's mineral assets globally, requiring expertise in geological modeling, statistical analysis, and resource reporting standards. You will collaborate virtually with exploration, mining, and corporate teams, providing strategic geological insights and ensuring the integrity of resource and reserve estimates. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and validation of geological models and resource estimates for various commodities using advanced software.
• Oversee and interpret drilling data, assay results, geological mapping, and geophysical data for resource modeling.
• Ensure compliance with international resource reporting codes (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101).
• Collaborate closely with mine planning engineers and geologists to translate resource models into mineable reserves.
• Provide expert geological input for due diligence, acquisitions, and strategic planning initiatives.
• Mentor and guide a team of geologists and resource modelers, fostering technical excellence remotely.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology or a related earth science discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mineral resource estimation and geological modeling.
• Demonstrated expertise in statistical analysis, geostatistics (e.g., variography, kriging), and resource modeling software.
• Proven track record of authoring or contributing to technical reports compliant with major reporting codes.
• Excellent understanding of different ore deposit types and geological environments relevant to mineral exploration .
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for effective remote collaboration.
