Remote Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary and strategic Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead their cybersecurity efforts. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while driving the company's security vision and strategy. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the enterprise vision, strategy, and program to protect the company's information assets and technologies. This senior leadership role requires a deep understanding of both technical and business aspects of information security, coupled with exceptional leadership and communication skills to guide the security team and influence stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive information security strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the implementation and management of all information security policies, procedures, and controls.
• Lead and mentor the information security team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
• Manage the information security budget and ensure effective resource allocation.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, legal, and external partners.
• Oversee incident response planning and execution, ensuring minimal impact from security breaches.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy laws and industry regulations.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in information security management.
• Proven experience developing and implementing enterprise-wide security strategies.
• Deep understanding of risk management, compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST), and threat landscapes.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience managing large budgets and cross-functional teams.
