Remote Civil Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking engineering consultancy, is actively seeking a skilled and motivated Remote Civil Design Engineer to join their expanding operations. This position is fully remote, allowing candidates from anywhere to contribute to our client's innovative projects. The role focuses on the design and development of civil infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage systems, and earthworks. You will be instrumental in translating conceptual ideas into detailed, constructible designs, utilizing cutting-edge software and adhering to stringent industry standards. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering designs for civil infrastructure projects, including site development, road networks, and stormwater management systems.
• Perform complex calculations and analyses for grading, hydrology, hydraulics, and earthworks.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and reports using CAD and other design software.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant local, regional, and national regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other disciplines remotely via digital platforms.
• Conduct quality control checks on design deliverables to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Research and recommend materials and construction methods to optimize project outcomes.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals and project documentation.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in civil engineering design and technology.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in civil design engineering.
• Proficiency in civil engineering design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or similar.
• Solid understanding of grading, drainage, road design, and earthwork principles.
• Familiarity with South African National Standards (SANS) and relevant environmental regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines consistently.
