Key Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and detailed designs for urban infrastructure, including road networks, drainage systems, and public spaces.
• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, and technical specifications using industry-standard software.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site analyses remotely, utilizing available data and GIS information.
• Collaborate effectively with a remote team of engineers, planners, architects, and other stakeholders through digital platforms.
• Ensure all designs adhere to national and municipal engineering standards, regulations, and sustainability principles.
• Provide technical support and clarification to project teams and clients as needed, via virtual communication channels.
• Contribute to the development of master plans and urban development strategies.
• Perform quality assurance checks on designs and documentation generated by the team.
• Research and propose innovative design solutions and technologies for urban infrastructure projects.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng or Pr. Tech. Eng) is highly advantageous.
• At least 6 years of experience in civil engineering design, with a focus on urban planning and infrastructure.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and experience with GIS tools is a strong asset.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective virtual collaboration.
• Strong understanding of South African urban planning principles and relevant legislation.
• Proven experience in designing and coordinating complex infrastructure systems.
• Ability to interpret and analyze spatial data and topographic information.
