Remote Civil Engineer - Infrastructure Design

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Remote Civil Engineer specializing in Infrastructure Design . This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for the design and development of critical infrastructure projects, including water, wastewater, and storm drainage systems, as well as roads and site developments. Working independently and collaborating virtually with project teams, you will play a key role in delivering essential public works projects, contributing to sustainable development and community well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop plans for water supply networks, sewer systems, and stormwater management solutions.
• Perform hydraulic and hydrological modeling to support infrastructure design.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates using industry-standard software.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments remotely where possible, or coordinate with local site personnel.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant national and municipal engineering standards and regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with project managers, clients, and other disciplines through virtual communication channels.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in civil infrastructure design.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting.
• Proficiency in civil design software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and relevant hydraulic modeling tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
• Strong understanding of South African infrastructure standards and environmental considerations.
