Remote Civil Engineer - Municipal Infrastructure

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer with expertise in Municipal Infrastructure to join their fully remote team, supporting projects across South Africa, including those in the vicinity of East London . This role is essential for the planning, design, and oversight of vital local government infrastructure such as roads, stormwater systems, and water reticulation. You will work remotely, collaborating with municipal officials and project teams to deliver sustainable and efficient solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design and plan municipal infrastructure projects, including roads, streets, stormwater drainage, and water supply systems.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for tender and construction purposes.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for proposed infrastructure developments.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant municipal bylaws, SANS standards, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate remotely with municipal clients, contractors, and other consultants to ensure project objectives are met.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase, potentially involving site visits as required by project needs.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related specialization.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in municipal infrastructure design and project coordination.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is essential.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and relevant hydraulic and road design software.
• Experience working with municipal clients and understanding of public sector procurement processes.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a remote work environment supporting projects across South Africa , including the Eastern Cape .
